We are dedicated to promoting interest in The Dark Ages and mediaval times (500-1500AD). We have our own 7-acre site with a re-created ring fort that is now fully pallisaded. Several hundred rare fruit trees have been planted and a large pond installed. We have regular school parties who enjoy are 'Viking Days'. We are always looking for volunteers and are afiliated to The Vikings and Regia Anglorum.

The aim of our group is to bring to life different aspects of history up to 1900, with a maximum of authenticity, and focusing mainly (though not exclusively) on the area now called The Netherlands. We practise living history and re-enactment in a wide variety of ways. Our group can show the daily life and times of many different periods, and demonstrate the appropriate skills in cooking, fighting, smith craft, woodwork, plant dyeing, sewing and other textile crafts, and so on.

The Society re-enacts the Viking era on Gotland, specifically Frojel harbour on the west coast. Members have access to the information and reports from the Frojel excavation and access to the artifacts, as a result the society have many splendid copies of artifacts and a working knowledge of the trading place. Accuracy is a keynote for the group and members take a lot of pride in the way they depict the life, crafts, and history of the Frojel trading harbour one of the richest places in the Viking world. With blacksmiths, jewellery castors, weavers, woodworkers and metal weapons fighters plus board and field games it is a well rounded club offering many activities to members and visitors of all ages alike.

We perform Living History and fight displays over many weekends of the summer. The living history side consists of the best food ever (cooked authentically) as well as tablet weaving, weaving, leather working, bone carving, smithing and woodworking on the pole lathe.
