Victorian 1800-1900AD Period
The Victorian Period of English History has been given its' own section mainly due to the increasing pace of change under this great Queen of England. The longest serving monarch of in english history reigned over possibly the greatest period of English Domination and Conquest with the increasing accumulation of countries into the British Commonwealth.
This was also a period of great change with the growing industrialisation of the known world bringing an increasing gap between the rich and poor of the industrialised countries. Growth of the major towns in England with the rise in the use of women and children for labour brought with it extremes of poverty and lower class destitution.
However this was also the period of the height of the British nation with the great exhibitions such as Crystal Palace and Alexander Palace in London. A period of history starting with a mainly agricultural organisation and finishing with motorised power and mechanical expansion previously unknown.
More articles on this period will appear in this section as soon as they are written. If anyone wishes to contribute to this section please feel free to email submissions@histrenact.co.uk for inclusion of your articles.
