He regularly entertains for Medieval weddings in Ruthin Casle in North Wales, and is the Royal Jester to the court of The Kingdom of Fantaysia. Among his many skills as a jester, he offers stiltwalking, balancing (swords etc on his nose or chin), juggling, diabolo, lying on a bed of nails, walking on broken glass, fire etc... He can provide Meet'n'Greet, Mix'n'Mingle, Walkabout, Table hopping and Shows in any combination.

Janet and Chris Thorn provide popular music in costume using suitable instruments. We regularly perform music appropriate to 15th, 16th, 17th and 19th centuries but anything is considered. We act as wondering minstrels and play in processions. A large medieval tent is available as required. We can play for dancing and instruct. As well as performing at concert venues and early music festivals, Misericordia travel through Britain and Europe (with authentic costume and medieval tent) to fairs, festivals, castles and halls; we also play as minstrels for authentic medieval banquets. Like all our music, music for historical events is skilfully played on a wide range of authentic instruments, including hurdy gurdy, bagpipes, gothic harp, citole, recorders and percussion.

A qualified teacher, with an MA in Museums and Galleries in Education, she believes passionately in the value of creating empathy to help people to understand the past and in the importance of story to this process.
