The Museum of London is 25 years old in December 2001, and all interested individuals are invited to a party to celebrate its birthday. Fun activities for family visitors will be plentiful. You'll be able to mint your own coin, have your face painted ancient-Briton blue, watch a spectacular dance and music performance by Camden, Islington and Westminster schools, solve a history mystery, try your hand at the museum quizzes, enter a balloon race. At the finale there will be very special birthday candles, cake, balloons and much more! Free admission for all.

Description :
On Monday 10th December, Sheffield's Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress will personally visit the site of the excavations of Sheffield's medieval castle. From the loading bay near Lady's Bridge and to the rear of work being carried out by Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Markets at Castle Market, civic dignitaries and members of the press will be able to see the unearthed remains of stone walls, some up to five feet thick, which are thought to date back to the 13th Century.
